X ray of the week#6

A 20yr male presented with history of Injury 2 years back followed by surgery on left hip with some implants which were removed 3 weeks later due to psychiatric disturbances

He presented to us with shortening of left lower limb of 9cms (3cms supra trochanteric &6cms infratrochanteric) in femur and 3cms in leg when compared to opposite sidewith discharging sinus over proximal thigh.

wHAT IS THE PROBABLE iNITIAL#
wHAT COULD BE THE POSSIBLE REASON FOR fAILURE

What is the ideal management for this patient?

1 comment:

  1. it is non union subtrochanteric fractre femur(fielding type1)
the probable surgery done was DHS(Will be predictable if scar photo is there)
reason for failure may be early weight bearing or infection.
